ABOUT ME

I worked in the eating disorder field for over 10 years, spanning various levels of care, including residential treatment (RTC), partial hospitalization (PHP), intensive outpatient (IOP), inpatient, outpatient therapy, meal support groups, and in-home services. This experience has given me a deep understanding of how treatment models operate-and where they often fall short in meeting the needs of diverse clients.

More recently, I have shifted toward a harm reduction approach under the guidance of Gloria Lucas, recognizing that not everyone's healing journey looks the same. My work is grounded in flexibility and autonomy, meeting clients where they are rather than imposing a rigid standard of recovery.

Beyond direct client work, I have provided trainings on coping skills, delivered educational talks at Pepperdine University on eating disorder awareness and early intervention, and served on a Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) board, deepening my understanding of how race, privilege, ableism, and systemic barriers impact eating disorder experiences.

I am also trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), a trauma-informed therapy approach that can be particularly helpful for individuals whose eating concerns are rooted in past trauma. Additionally, I am currently in Spanish immersion programs to expand accessibility for Spanish-speaking clients.
